"Help restore The Little Church in Iuka, Mississippi. Support our nonprofit’s fundraising efforts to preserve its history."
The historic Episcopal Church of Our Savior (The Little Church in Iuka) took a big step toward restoration as Iuka Heritage, Inc. was awarded a $5,000 matching grant from the Mississippi Hills Heritage Area Alliance (MHHAA). The grant, announced at the March 19 awards ceremony in Oxford, will help fund essential repairs to the church’s bell tower and other structural elements.
The funding is part of the FY25 Community Grant Program, which distributed over $360,000 in matching grants to projects across 13 counties in North Mississippi.
The Little Church restoration, estimated at $10,000, will focus on repairing the historic bell tower, restoring deteriorated exterior trim, improving attic access, and implementing measures to maintain a clean and safe interior environment. Since the grant requires matching funds, Iuka Heritage is launching a fundraising campaign to secure the additional $5,000 needed to complete the work.

… as it needs overdue repair and maintenance to ensure it continues to beautify the spot it calls home. During its time off, the Little Church is planning a fanciful vacation. After all, it's been sitting there a tad over 150 years. Isn't it about time for a vacation?
To see if it was up to travel, last year the Little Church took a short trip to see the Total Eclipse of the Sun and sent us a postcard. With a successful test trip under her beams, she's been actively planning her escape and has got lots of surprises up her belfry.
We're all invited to join in the fun. So come back often to see the pictures. We'll also chronicle the restoration and repair efforts to inform everyone of the plans and the progress.
The adventure awaits – won't you come along?.
We're off to a good start. Think about joining us...
THANK YOU for your UNDERSTANDING!

The Boomer Years Website was for:
TEACHERS, STUDENTS and SPONSORS
who hope to share their vision of the Future by remembering, and better understanding, the past.
AS TEACHERS we are challenged to offer our students fun and exciting ways to engage in the “World of Learning.”
AS STUDENTS we are challenged to look beyond the complexity of the subject and find those hidden connections that give the material meaning and excitement.
AS SPONSORS we are challenged to remember the future is built from stones that were once seen to be only rubble, and that as students and teachers ourselves, we bear the responsibility of sharing our talents.
We are all TEACHERS. We are all STUDENTS. We are all SPONSORS. Realizing this Truth enriches lives and makes our world more complete.
